I used ubuntu few months ago. I must appreciate that it really can do anything, has great graphics. I loved it, but, i had to remove it for a reason, the solution for which i haven’t yet found. I have Gigabyte Motherboard(M61PME-S2; link- http://www.giga-byte.co.in/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=2755) which has an onboard Realtek High Definition Audio Card. When i installed Ubuntu, the drivers were automatically installed, but the volume was very less. I made the volume of the speakers highest and also increased the volume from inside Ubuntu, but still volume was as if it was turned almost off. I replaced my speakers(to check if there was a defect in my speakers), but the same problem was there in all the speakers and headphones i have. I updated my audio drivers, still no use. When i re-installed Windows, the speakers were working fine. I don’t know what is the problem. I gave Ubuntu many more chances(I wanted to, it was beautiful!!), but had the same problem.
This is not a small problem for me as i use my PC mainly for music and movies.
Please if anyone knows a solution to my problem, mail me at udey.rishi@gmail.com.
I’m always weary of buying ink from outside the actual printer company because of sketchy ink levels (like half empty cartridges) but they seem to be fine.
It was a good deal.
My problem is solved now, I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala…and it is fine….but I must say that instead of ubuntu, Kubuntu is better and sexier!
Really?
